RTI Tracking

Track reusable transport items through the full supply chain loop.

Pallet management3PLLogisticsSupply chain

Overview

Pallets, crates and containers are expensive to lose and even more expensive to replace — but they're also the assets most likely to disappear into the supply chain. RTI Tracking follows every returnable transport item from departure to return, with optional barcode pairing for partners still using non-RFID systems. Utilisation rates and return status are visible at all times.

The Problem

RTI pools leak constantly — items reach customers and stay there, are used for unintended purposes, or are simply never returned. Without visibility into where each item is, managing pool sizes is guesswork and replacement cost is unpredictable.

Workflow

Step-by-step: how this use case works in the Loccuro operator app.

  1. 1
    Scan at departure
Log the RTI leaving your facility with destination. The tracking session begins.
  2. 2
    Pair barcode (optional)
If the partner uses a barcode label, use Marry Codes mode to link it to the RFID tag — enabling dual tracking.
  3. 3
    Track at each handoff
Each partner or depot scans on arrival and departure, adding entries to the RTI's journey log.
  4. 4
    Monitor return status
The dashboard shows in-field, in-transit and returned items — per customer, per route, per RTI type.
  5. 5
    Close the loop
Scan on return. Dwell time and utilisation are calculated automatically for reporting and billing.
